The MacWorld Expo 2011 kicks off tomorrow in San Francisco, and MacLife.com has put together a list of helpful apps for visitors to our fair city. These apps will help you dine well, navigate the city, point you towards great entertainment options and even help you find that coveted parking spot.

Perhaps the most interesting app is also the least practical: Time Shutter San Francisco. Using old photos of major landmarks, this app allows users to switch between modern-day and historic San Francisco. It also lets you take your own photo and upload it for comparison.

Our new Slick Case for iPad

We got a nice email from Rosalind in Ontario, Canada who purchased our new Slick Case to protect her iPad:

Just wanted to let you know I purchased your Slick Case in white from our local BestBuy here in St. Catharines, Ontario, for my new iPad. I am really pleased with it. An Apple rep was in the store and also recommended it, and after perusing all the other cases, I decided on the white Slick Case.

I was, in truth, attracted to the white ’60s sleek look to it, but have since found that it is an excellent case for iPad. It provides padded protection and the iPad can also be charged while in the case if one positions the zipper neatly around the USB cable when plugged into iPad. (Yes, I know Apple does not recommend iPad remaining in its case while charging…)

I am a writer and use my iPad, MacBook, and iPhone constantly while at home and away. The Slick Pad easily fits inside a large purse and is ready to transport.

I have written a paragraph about the Slick Case and included a couple of photos from your site in my iPad review at my blog. I have also recommended the case to friends.

Gratifying to buy a product that turns out better than one anticipated!
